

Chester (Chet) Alan Hier of Sedalia, Colorado passed away on Monday November 25th at the age of 82. He was born on November 16th, 1942, in Sedalia, Colorado where he grew up hunting, fishing and raising hell with his brother, friends and many cousins.
Chet graduated from Douglas County High School in 1960. He married Mary Myers on June 16th, 1961, they were married for 35 years and later divorced.
After graduation he worked at Martin Marietta in Waterton Canyon and later became a Custom Home Builder, he was in the custom home business for 45 years. Chet was highly honored to be one of the first Custom Home builders selected to build homes at Castle Pines.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother Alan Hier and Ella Jackson Hier
He is survived by his two daughters Tish Hier (Jami Huckfeldt) of Mitchell, Nebraska, and Tonya Hier (Shane Burr) of Elbert, Colorado. His two grandsons, Chazz Hier (Sarah), and Chantz Hier Walpole (Tina) of Elizabeth, Colorado and Brother Thomas (Tee) Charles Hier of Maple Hill, Kansas.
He enjoyed his days at Bud’s Bar with all the round table members, and patrons of Buds Bar. He loved boating, fishing, hunting, rodeoing, ranching, and being with his many friends and family. He was a published author of two books.
The family would like to thank Misty Tapp, Pete Hier, Garro Chalian, Chazz and Sarah Hier, Bruce Hier, Shane Burr, Guy Elder, Terry Thompson, Billy Moore, and the crew at Buds Bar for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
Graveside committal services will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at Bear Canon Cemetery - 435 CO - 105, Sedalia, CO 80135.
Celebration of Life Service will be held that same date at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge - 1300 Caprice Dr., Castle Rock from 11:00 AM - 4:00 P.M.. Please come prepared with stories and special memories to share with all in attendance.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to Sedalia Historical Museum.
