Chris attended Overland High School in Aurora, Colorado where she met her future husband, Kevin Lacy. Chris and Kevin started dating in October of 1984, and they have been together for over 40 years.
They both attended the University of Colorado, Boulder where Chris graduated with degrees in Biology and Psychology. After graduation, Chris and Kevin got married on June 9, 1990 and had their first daughter, Kayla, in 1991. Chris then returned to CU and earned a BS in Nursing in 1995.
After graduating, Chris dedicated her career to working as a Neonatal Intensive Care nurse, where she found great fulfillment in caring for premature babies and supporting their families. Her commitment to her patients was unwavering, and she was a strong advocate for the well-being of newborns. She continued this important work with love and passion until health challenges led her to retire in 2007.
In 1996, Chris gave birth to Justine as they moved to Centennial, Colorado. Later, Chris had a third daughter, Sydney, in 2000. Chris was incredibly proud of her three daughters and maintained strong relationships with them, as well as their friends, into their adult lives. She was an incredible listener and had an innate ability to make people comfortable, offering support and guidance to those around her.
After the girls graduated high school, Chris and Kevin moved to Castle Rock, Colorado and she was eagerly anticipating retirement and grandchildren. Chris had a variety of hobbies including scrap-booking, gardening, long lunches with friends, was learning to love fly fishing with Kevin, and truly loved being in the role of “Coach’s Wife” at every volleyball tournament.
Chris is survived by her loving husband and three daughters. She recently celebrated Justine’s wedding to Maddie Mendlen in 2023, as well as Kayla’s wedding to Dave Boisvert. Chris was an incredible mother and had fantastic relationships with all five of the kids.
Chris and Kevin were excited to celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary next summer and were best friends and soul mates.
Chris was an inspiration in so many ways—through her devotion as a mother and wife, her ability to listen and support those around her, and her remarkable strength to stay optimistic and courageous in the face of every health challenge. She was a true beacon of light to everyone around her, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life service for Christine will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel, 407 Jerry Street, Castle Rock, CO 80104.
