She was lovingly known as DeDe—a devoted woman whose life reflected steady faith, generous service, and deep love for those around her. DeDe was passionate about the Lord. Always giving, always serving those around her.
These are the words she wanted to be remembered by:
“I gave love to others as much as the Lord gave to me! How much I love my husband, Jim and my family! That I taught my girls to give more than they receive. How much I love kids and how important it is to teach them about the Lord Jesus Christ!”
DeDe enjoyed being surrounded by her family and making memories. She was part of her church family and actively involved in church activities, serving in many ways: ensuring the building was cleaned weekly, serving on the board of directors, singing in the choir, participating in Stephen Ministry, making communion bread, supporting the Women’s prayer chain, taking part in secret sisters, and joining Bible studies.
DeDe also had the privilege of traveling to Estonia as a missionary seven times in her life. If there is anything she wanted everybody to know, it was the love of Jesus Christ and what He has done for you.
As hard as she worked throughout her life, DeDe fully enjoyed her embroidery and the joy of making people personalized items. Many will remember her for making baby blankets for new little ones—gifts that carried warmth, care, and her unmistakable touch. Her legacy lives on in the generations she planted seeds for, through her life and joy.
