Glenna Jean Shields

Glenna Jean Shields passed away on April 28, 2023, at the age of 76, in Castle Rock, CO. Glenna was born on July 30, 1946, in Akron, OH, along with her identical twin sister Nona, to Elsie and Glenn Carey.

Glenna moved to Santa Monica, CA when she was 17, with Nona, Elsie, and her Stepfather, Stephen (Bud) O’Donnell. She met her husband, John while working at Voi-Shan in Culver City, CA. They bought a house in Westchester, CA, where they lived for over 50 years. They had a son together, Brian. Later, their daughter Kimberly was born. Glenna & her husband John owned Mr Rooter Plumbing of Los Angeles for 25 years. After John passed, Glenna moved to Castle Rock, CO. She resided there with Kimberly and her family, until her passing. In her free time, she enjoyed hanging out with family & friends, reading, shopping, watching Hallmark movies, and going to plays.

Glenna is survived by her children, Brian Shields (Debbie) and Kimberly Witzel (Kelly), her stepson, Darrin Shields, and her grandchildren, Delilah Shields, Levi Witzel, Chasity Shields, and Shelby Shields. She is also survived by her brother, Earl Carey (Carol), and her nieces and nephews, Stephanie Poole, Thomas Mondello, Kenneth Corey, Christopher Carey, and Sue Young, along with many cousins, great-nieces and nephews.

Glenna was preceded in death by her husband, John Shields, her twin sister, Winona Corey, her mother & step father Elsie & Bud O’Donnell, her father, Glenn Carey, and her great-niece, Ashley Guy.

A ceremony to celebrate Glenna's life will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 4:00 pm at the Joslyn Center, located at 339 Sheldon St. in El Segundo, CA 90245.

Glenna will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
