An only child, Jeffrey’s formidable years were spent living in various parts of United States due to his father's career, resided in New Jersey, Hudson, OH, Denver, CO, and most recently resided in Castle Rock. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver in 1965 and received a bachelors in environmental science at University of Colorado Boulder in 1974 as well as a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture at University of Denver in 1979.
Jeffrey voluntarily signed up for the Army during the height of the Vietnam War, and proudly served mostly fighting the Cold War in the early 1970’s. He was a Green Beret Sargent, he graduated from the JFK Special Warfare School in 1969 and was the top honor graduate. He became a member of the 10th Special Forces group after graduation. Amongst many other successful military missions, he and his team traveled to 17 countries in 12 months skiiing the back country in The Alpes and the European mountains. He served for three years and was honorably discharged, he then went back to college and completed his studies.
As a landscape architect, he worked with different firms including CDOT, where he was a project lead landscape architect for Vail Pass and received the Presidential award personally from President Gerald R Ford. He also was one of the primary landscape architects on the project of the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver. He finished his office career working with mine land reclamation companies including Gibbs & Hill and Phil Flores and Assoc. He then created a small business called Systems Planning Group, and was a passionate lobbyist for private property rights at the Colorado County and State level.
He was a thinker, problem solver, curious intellectual, avid collector of trains, books and maps and other ephemeral items. He enjoyed the company of others and was always one to tell a good story, but was also a good listener which made him a very interesting conversationalist.
