Kathryn "Katie" Ann Groves

Kathryn "Katie" Elmer Groves, age 38, of Castle Rock, Colorado, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 25, 2024. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Warren H. Lang and Harold and Julieann Elmer.

She was born in Lafayette, Louisiana on December 20, 1986. Katie graduated from Grace Christian School and continued her education through Liberty University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Education, and Western Governors University, where she earned a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics Education - Middle Grades. Katie utilized her education as a middle school math teacher for Cherry Hills Christian School.

She was the beloved wife to Scott Groves and the pair were married in an intimate ceremony on February 13, 2015 on a sparkling beach in Florida.

She had a passion for developing her students and caring for their spiritual growth and love of mathematics, promoting the latest and greatest Scentsy products with her friends and family, continuing a lifelong passion for reading, creating unique treasures with her Cricut, focusing on her wellness and encouraging others with 3A Fitness, maintaining her obsession with moose stemming from her time spent in Alaska, and sharing the ongoing antics of her most precious dog, Bailey.

She is survived by her husband, Scott; her parents Matthew (Kim) Elmer and Diane Elmer; her grandma, Annetta Lang; her brothers, James (Jenny) Elmer and David (Kelly) Elmer; and her beloved nieces and nephews, Alya, Maizey, Beckham, Natalie, and Bennett Elmer; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Katie on January 2, 2025 at Cherry Hills Church chapel building in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, at 2:00 PM.
