From the moment he was born on June 17, 1980, Kris marched to the beat of his own drum. He was a true Gemini and lived a life of opposites. On one hand, Kris was a skilled and decorated Marine. He was part of the first wave in the 2001 war against Iraq. He was an ardent…sometimes belligerent…Broncos fan. He was tough, tatted, and well-suited to his role of bouncer.
On the other hand, that bushy beard of his hid the cutest dimples that were always secretly on display. He was a hilarious guy who was also generous with his own infectious laugh. Kris was a gentle beekeeper, a devoted uncle, and a ride-or-die kind of friend. He was an artist and a foodie (even though he would take a hard pass on that word). With his all-encompassing bear hug, Kris had the ability to make everyone he knew feel welcomed and special and seen. He dished out love with abandon and he was so, so loved in return. Kris was everyone’s favorite and he made all of our lives a better, joyful, more fun place to be. His parents, siblings, niece, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends will miss and love that huge heart of his forever.
As a tip of the hat to Kris, we ask those who feel moved to make a donation to https://thebeeconservancy.org/donate/ in his name. And hug your people. He’d love that.
There will be a military service at Ft. Logan National Cemetery this Saturday November 12, with a 12:45 pm arrival time to Staging Area A, to honor Kris’s time as a Marine. We will also have a celebration on Kris’s birthday 6/17/2023 at his family home in Franktown, Colorado. The first toast is scheduled for 6:17 pm, naturally.
