

Natalie Kathryn Smith Banta, 69, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2021, surrounded by family at the residence of her son in Henderson, Nevada. She fought a courageous battle with cancer before the Lord called her home.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on July 10th, 2021, at Calvary Chapel Salmon, 520 Main St., Salmon, Idaho, 83467. Pastor Hagen will officiate.
Natalie was born July 24, 1951 in beautiful Burbank, California to Glenn Elwood Smith, Jr., Lockheed Martin engineer and private pilot, and Sheila Mildred Allen Smith, homemaker. Natalie is the granddaughter of Glenn Elwood Smith, Sr., notable Pasadena, California architect. Natalie attended Burbank High School, class of 1969. She was originally married to Richard Woodward; together, they raised Nathan Woodward and Heidi Woodward Osborne. She later married Steve Banta; together, they raised Chris Banta, Breana “Amy” Banta Rue, and Julia Banta Locke.
Natalie was well known as an extremely hard worker and dedicated employee. She worked at Baldree Electric in Salmon and later at B&B Grocery. She was employed at East Idaho Credit Union from 1985-2013, where she retired as Branch Manager.
Besides spending time with family and her many friends, she enjoyed gardening, hiking, reading (especially to her 16 grandchildren), sewing quilts, attending book clubs, loving on her pets, exercising, volunteering, and traveling to mountain and beach destinations.
Natalie is preceded in death by her father; mother; brother, Chris Smith; and her husband, Steve Banta. Natalie is survived by her five children, whom she loved unconditionally: Nathan, Heidi, Chris, Breana, Julia, and half-sister, Suze Black. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, whom she adored: Cassondra and Matthew Woodward; Joshua, Emmaly, Gracie, Ethan, Annabelle, and Ruthimae Osborne; Gabrielle and Blakely Banta; Abigail Rue, Autumn Nettles, and Ryan Rue; J Tweedy, and Xavier and Savian Sneed.
As a family we extend our deepest gratitude for the loving condolences and support we’ve been shown by all of those whose lives have been touched by Natalie, a.k.a., Mom.
