Norman was a lover and a fighter. He was born in Aurora, Colorado in 1956. As the son of a US serviceman, he traveled much of the world in his youth. Happy to finally settle down, Norman fell in love with Castle Rock in 1991 and never left.
One of Norman’s proudest accomplishments was obtaining his Graduate degree—it was the proclamation of a goal achieved, and a man restored. Through hard work, dedication, and bicycle rides to school in torrential rain, Norman refused to be deterred from achieving his goal.
At 50 years old, Norman discovered Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and it positively changed him and his family forever. Norman truly committed himself to the growth of Castle Rock BJJ and the sport overall. His passion for Jiu Jitsu was well known to anyone that would listen. Norman will forever be a true ambassador of the sport.
Norman loved his family, Jiu Jitsu, and the Republican Party. Norman began the political education of many Castle Rock youth by telling them to “vote Republican.” Norman’s trick-or-treat potatoes will be sorely missed, but not nearly as much as his one-of-a-kind sense of humor and his big heart.
On August 5, 2023, Norman passed away while surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by the mother of his children, Connie; his best friend Amy; his daughters, Alisha, Julia, and Chloe; his sons, Dustin and JR; and eleven grandchildren. Norman is also survived by his father Norman, and brothers David and Jason.
An open house gathering for Norman will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 at beginning at 11:00 AM at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel, 407 Jerry St., Castle Rock, CO. A Celebration of Life service will then begin at 12:30 P.M., followed by a Cemetery Committal Service at 1:30 PM at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 880 E. Wolfensberger Rd., Castle Rock, CO.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.OlingerAndrews.com for the Fulton family.
