Dear Paula,

My heart goes out to you - the loss of a spouse is so difficult- as you lose part of yourself, your life plan, dreams, your main supporter and love of life. I know he is together with your dad, and other family friends but the pain and loss is so very great- I know the kids will be surrounding you with their love and protective arms- I am so sorry- he was a good man and role model to many.

My heart breaks for ya'll- remembering you in my prayers. I have fond memories of Mr. Ray playing board games with Brooke and me when we stayed w/ ya'll before heading to Winter Park, and would wish to go back when I was in ski school. Thank you for your friendship to our family!

Dear Paula and family,  I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ray.  We worked together from time to time when he had difficult fits with his customer's. My brother in Christ, 35 year business partner, and friend was the kind of faithful man you would like your daughter to marry. He was someone you could depend on, in thick or thin. He has now heard those words we all desire to hear - "Well done, good and faithful servant".

Y'all are in our prayers. Many memories of good times at TJ meetings, and when we stayed with y'all in Aurora on the way to Winter Park.

Dear Paula and Family,
Skip and I first met Ray when he came to Portland to visit Chad, his brother and his mother.  We ate an Italian dinner at Cara Amico and attended a Cirque du Soleil show.  Ray was gracious, kind, and funny.  We had a wonderful evening together.  Skip and I hoped that Ray would become Melissa's future father in law.  We lucked out, it happened.  Our hearts are grieving at the loss of this good and decent man who was a vital member of this family.  We know that his memory will live on in the hearts of Paula, his children and grandchildren and in ours as well.  With our love, Skip and Linda

I remember meeting Ray, my husband's father, for the first time.  We traveled to Boise, Idaho together from Portland to watch Chad compete in a half Ironman. I brought along a CD and Ray played it.  It was fun to see him bobbing his head and snapping his fingers.  I was relieved that we had the same taste in music.  I am really going to miss him.  He was such a kind and caring man.

I'm stunned to learn of Ray's passing. I was his customer and friend for at least 35 years--maybe longer. Who can remember that long ago. Whenever he called on me, we always had great conversation particularly about his family. He will truly be missed. Stu Bennett (Denver)

Ray was a good friend and mentor. He was one who was loving and forgiving. He was a good example to follow.

Ray was a good man, a good friend, and a heck of a salesman.  I always enjoyed talking with him when he called on our office, and hearing about his life experiences.  I particularly admired the commitment Ray made to his family.  My sincere condolences to you all.

Dear Mrs. Freeman and family,

Thank you for your e-mail informing me of Ray's passing.  I had wondered many times since I last visited with him earlier this year how he was doing.  He had shared with me that he was ill.

First, I want to share my deepest sympathies to all the members of Ray's family.  He was a fine person and became a friend over the many years that he was my Tom James representative.

Second, over the many years that Ray sold me clothes, he came to be much more than a sales representative.  He became my friend and I would always look forward to his semi-annual visits to my law office.  Besides discussing the latest clothes that he had to offer we would discuss the world and we both felt very lucky to be alive and living in Colorado.

Finally, Ray was a consummate professional in his chosen profession.  He got to know me and my tastes in clothes and that is what he would present to me.  He always allowed me to stay in my budget and never pushed me to purchase more than I wanted or an item that I did not want.  

I will miss him and his visits.  He was a great guy.

I was so very sorry to hear of Ray's passing.  I was a client, but more important, a friend for the better part of 20 years.  You couldn't find a better person or a finer gentleman.  I will miss him and send my hearfelt condolences to Ray's entire family.
