Richard (Bear) Parker, of Dade City, FL sadly passed away on October 18th, 2023 in Castle Rock, CO after a lengthy battle with nephropathy. Richard was born to James and Dorothy-Ann Parker on April 10th, 1953 in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Being raised in Venezuela, Richard landed in Florida for school. After graduating from Bolles High School and then Saint Leo College in 1989, he went on to serve with the Dade City Police Department until retirement.
Bear was a kind-hearted man who loved to make people laugh and was fast to make friends with anyone he talked to. Rarely could you find Bear without his Ham Radio nearby. He loved to tinker with his radios in his free time. After retirement, Richard moved out of state to be closer to his family.
Bear is survived by his loving wife Cindy and his children Sara Parker, Ryan (Paige) Parker, Geoff (Jocelyn) Parker, and 2 grandchildren.
Please join us in celebrating his life Sunday afternoon April 14th, 2024. The memorial Service begins at 1pm at The Colonial at Sunset. 31122 Pasco Rd, San Antonio, FL 33576. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to The Ronald McDonald House of Central Florida (rmhccf.org).
