2022. Rob was born in Welch, WV on March 25, 1959 to Ralph & Freda Carroll.
Rob graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas, VA in 1977, worked a few
odd jobs and ended up working at the local IBM plant until pursuing his musical career full time.
As a talented musician that Rob was, he played in various local bands (Escape, Michael Fath,
Roadducks), until being picked up by The Outlaws, a southern rock band out of Tampa, Florida
best known for "Green Grass and High Tides". He then went on to play with Southern Brigade
before landing a job as a contractor with DOD which he made his career for the last 24 years of
his life.
Because music was always Rob’s passion and christianity was his faith, he incorporated the two
and led worship for various churches and events on a voluntary basis: Calvary Chapel
Manassas, Harvest Christian Fellowship, Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center,
Manassas Assembly of God - Alpha Group, Celebrate Recovery at The Rock, Genesis Church
and Vanguard Church. The last few years he side gigged with various local bands in the Denver
area and FL: 25 South, Hoodoo U, Radio Waves, E2H, Yellow Dog Blues Band, Southern
Shores, Tongue n’ Cheek.
Rob is survived by his four children: Ryan Heinlein, Keenan Carroll, Art Carroll, Aaron Carroll;
one sibling and sister in law: Jim and Jeannie Carroll; Nieces, nephews and cousins; Former spouse, Mary Barbachano; Long time friend, Al Sofield.
He was preceded in death by both his parents: Ralph and Freda (Wooten) Carroll.
