Beloved Wife and Precious Mother
(November 27, 1956 – October 6, 2010)
Sharon Ehrle Richardson left a tremendous imprint in this world by devoting her life as a gentle servant to her Lord, family, friends, and community. The world was blessed when she was born in Beaumont, Texas on November 27, 1956. She first served as a devoted daughter to her proud parents, Sandra and William Ehrle, and as a loving older sister to William Jr. and Rhonda.
Sharon continuously answered her call to serve when she married her soul mate, Daniel Richardson, on June 20, 1981, at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Austin, Texas. She proudly served as a beloved wife and homemaker for 29 years, delighting in creating an extraordinary home for her family.
On August, 2, 1983, she fulfilled her dream of motherhood with the birth of her daughter, Heather Richardson, and tirelessly served as a confidant and best friend to her daughter. Heather always felt love and encouragement from her mother as she reached her goals and envisioned new aspirations.
She also served as a loyal friend, placing the needs of others before her own. She spent countless hours lending a shoulder to cry on, offering wisdom, and sharing humor so that others may know joy.
In 1997, she shared her service internationally when the family moved to Venezuela for Dan’s new job. She brought smiles to the Venezuelan orphans when she gave them birthday parties and dried the tears of the poor by appeasing their hunger and compassionately listening to their afflictions.
On the other hand, servitude is not the only gift she bestowed on this world. Her talents were bountiful: she excelled at singing, dancing, decorating, cooking, gardening, finding humor, teaching others compassion, and sharing her love with animals. Sharon’s life was truly an example of the service that God has called all his people to fulfill. She brought a glimpse of Heaven on Earth and her imprint will never fade.
MATTHEW 23:11-12
The greatest among you must be your servant.
Whoever exalts himself will be humbled;
But whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
