

Thomas grew up in Protection, KS and graduated from Protection High School in 1998. He received an associate's degree from Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, KS, where he was a member of the football team. He attended U.N.L.V. in Las Vegas, NV.
Thomas was proud to follow in his father’s footsteps, building a career in the oil and gas industry, where his strong work ethic and dedication were evident to those who worked alongside him.
Thomas had a deep love for Hawaii and the mountains, places that brought him peace and a sense of freedom. He felt most at peace on his motorcycle, embracing the open road and the quiet moments of reflection it provided.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing, and he loved animals.
He is survived by his wife: Gretchen Thompson and his stepdaughter; his son: Justice Thompson; his parents: Gale & Lisa Thompson of Protection, KS; his brother: Nick Thompson and his wife Lisa of Smith Center, KS; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Ed & Shirley Thompson and Tony & Mary Gonzales; his uncle: Tommy Thompson; and his cousin: Travis Morris.
Funeral service is at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Protection Christian Church in Protection, KS, with Pastor Rusty Westerfield presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Protection Christian Church or Justice Thompson and Malaya Henderson-Long Education Fund in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, P.O. Box 417, Coldwater, KS 67029.
