

Walter Otto Miller born May 27, 1933 died February 6, 2017 in Castle Rock Colorado. He was born on Chicago’s north side the the only child to Walter and Lillian Miller. He attended Carl Schurz High School graduating in 1951. After receiving his Associates degree from North Park College Walter joined the US Army in 1954 and completed his service May of 1956. After his service he attended Northern Illinois University to study Biology and work on a minor in Political Science. In March of 1957 Walt met Leslie Wallenfeldt at a Veteran’s Club performance. They were married August 18 1958 in Geneseo, Illinois and were married for fifty eight years. They moved to Aurora, Illinois where he worked for the Beacon Newspaper. He soon moved into the field of mortgage insurance and commercial real estate. Walter and Leslie have four children Matthew (Leah), Layton, Utah, Douglas (Beth), Castle Rock, Colorado, Emilie (Quinn Scheid), Castle Rock, Colorado, and Andrew (Heather), Nashville, Tennessee. Walt has ten grandchildren, Josh, Luke, Zach, Megan, Harrison, Nate, Ben, Hadley, Hudson, and Declan.
Walter enjoyed, fishing, gardening, western movies, all Chicago sports teams, and playing with his children and grandchildren. As a follower of Jesus, Walter was very active in his church. He taught sixth grade boy's Sunday school, served as a deacon, and was involved in Men’s Ministry. His love for Christ was something that developed and grew over the years becoming the priority of his life. He grew very passionate about reading his Bible, prayer and worship.
The memorial service for Walter is Friday, February 10th at 1:00 p.m. at Plum Creek Church 960 South Interstate 25 Castle Rock, CO 80104
