Sister P just told me about your Mom.  She was always such a joy-giving person. Loved when she came into the office, which was all too seldom.  My prayers are with you all.

Always a warm smile on her face is how I remember Aida.  The best mother-in-law my daughter Diane could ever want or wish for. To George, Kevin, Sharon, Bernie & Katie keeping all of you in my prayers love Mom Skinner.

Sending my love, prayers and sympathy to both of you, Sharon and George. I had the privilege of being your mother's grade partner at St Philip Neri School. I considered her to be my mentor even though I had taught longer than she. Through her words and actions many came to love her, enjoy her and benefit from her. She was truly an example to all of us and her students loved her to the moon and back! When she left St Philip Neri School it was our loss and Our Lady of Victory's gain. Your mother is now reunited with your father and together they rest in the arms our Lord and Savior. May the angels and saints welcome her into paradise. May both of you continue to carry out the good work that has been instilled in you. My love and prayers.

Heaven received a beautiful angel. Her smile and gentle disposition will be remembered always. My prayers and thoughts are with Sharon, Bernie, Katie and George.  Find comfort in knowing "mom" is with "dad."

Mrs. Houst was such a warm, caring, friendly, loving woman and she brought such fun and so many smiles every time I was with her. I am very thankful to have known such a special person and I send my deepest sympathy to Sharon, George, Bernie, Katie, and all who loved her.  God bless you all.

For those of you coming to this page who did not know my mom before the Alzherimer's, you need to know how brave, how kind and how much fun she brought to life!  She was a faith-filled woman, who loved her family and all those that she called her friends.  And, if you knew her for more than a couple of minutes, you quickly became her friend.  She was the "cruise director", the life of the party, who knew how to enjoy life to its fullest.  The fact that Alzheimers zapped her memories, it never took away her spirit.  

My family in Puerto Rico (where my mom came from over 60 years ago) always say that we don't say goodbye; we say 'nos vemos"- which very loosely translated in our family (sorry to all those who truly speak Spanish) always meant until we see you again.  So, we love you mom, we will hold you close in our hearts forever and you will live in so many people whose lives you touched over the years - whether they be our good neighbors in Edmondson Heights, the countless number of students that she taught at OLV and St. Phillip Neri (for a total of 35 years), the volunteers at St. Agnes Hospital Auxiliary or the American Legion or the many friends you made along the way.  

Nos vemos, mamacita!  You and dad will be with us forever!  And we say a happy prayer today knowing that you are now together!
