Dear Mary Pat,
I learned with sorrow of the loss of your beloved Carroll. If I didn't live so far away I would surely have been at your side for his funeral. My thoughts and prayers go with you at this difficult time,and I thank you again and forever for your kind support when my own husband,and then my daughter, passed away. May Our Lord give you His peace and His strength.

To all of the Wentker family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Carroll and I taught together at Severna Park High School years ago. He was Science, I was Social Studies. We had many good times together car pooling to work from Catonsville and as teachers. Will never forget his smile.  Awesome friend and teacher.

To all the Wentker family, we are so sorry for the loss of your husband and father, Carroll. He was a kind, funny, dear man. You are in our prayers.

Carroll ( Wink's ) Wentker, that nickname was used when we were high school, and college students at University of Dayton.  Winks, was  a family man - loved his church- was an excellent athlete in his younger days...especially in baseball.  No wonder he and Bert Chapman were scouted for the Cincinait Reds - Winks's was an excellent student in high school, and college - he loved to sing, and had a beautiful voice - he was an excellent teacher, and the students loved him so -
he had a woderful sense of humore - and he had a lot of great friends in the Marianist Order - and in his church. - he was the editor of our high school newspaper called "Hilltop News" - and dear Mary Pat, Carroll was so lucky to have you as his wife- Carroll was blessed for having you in his life - you made him safe, and happy, and you continued to make him safe, and loved attending his needs....especially in later life, and to the end - you both persevered in love, and surely that was  in God's plan for both of you. - Jane, and I assure you of our thoughts, and prayers Mary Pat,during this so sorrowful loss  to you, and your dear family.  And, Winks...I'll be passing over to the other side when it's my time, to greet you in open arms....and one more thing ... our '50 Group is thinning down, and it'll be great for all of us to meet again in the presence of our dear Lord, and reminisce old times with Him.  Rest in peace, dear Carroll!

I'll never forget Mr. Wentker. He was my high school science teacher at Broadneck Sr. High, and I remember fondly his smile and all his crazy stories. My prayers and deepest sympathy are with all of you.

Dearest Mary Pat,
“MY” Carroll!  Never hubby Carroll or just plain Carroll. Mary Pat, you raised the meaning of MY from just a possessive adjective to a declaration of love each time you spoke of your special guy.  No matter what bad cards he was dealt in life, you played along with him and would have never dreamt of “folding or walking away”. 
Although always YOUR Carroll, we do thank you for sharing this gentle, loving guy. We enjoyed viewing the posted photos letting us in on the early years: the cutie toddler; the handsome athlete, teacher! But the best to follow: Carroll as devoted husband; father; and granddad, with you by his side! 
Al and I send our blessings. We pray that your sorrow becomes joy knowing that dear Carroll, though probably distracted a bit by the wonders of heaven, would never forget HIS earthly guardian angel Mary Pat and the beautiful family that you and he created.

Dear Ms. Mary Pat - I have so many, many happy memories of Cardinal Gibbons with Mr. Wentker and my dad, Paul M. Schaefer.  It was a treasure to see you both again on July 4th.  Know that Mr. Wentker will be missed most dearly, but be assured that (when he is not up to mischief with my dad!) he is now in perfect contentment in the arms of Our Lord, enfolded in the mantle of Our Lady.  Our sincere condolences to Chris and Mark and your grandchildren.  Ms. Mary Pat, you will be especially in our prayers.  We love you both!
