Dear Carol,

My deepest condolences on your loss. As you know, Carl and I became good friends in an industry and it was a pleasure finally meeting you in Baltimore a few years back.

There are few people who I feel really got to know me. Carl managed it by osmosis. I belonged in his generation. All of his friends and acquaintances became friends of mine. We cared about very similar things, but mainly people.

I am very sad about this news, but happy to know what a wonderful life he led and that I had the privilege of knowing him.

I just loved the man.  He was near and dear to my heart.

Our condolences to the Manger family.  I write on the behalf of the many friends and colleagues Carl had at Doble and through the Doble community.  Carl was more than a respected member of this community that shared experiences to make us all better.  Working together we all became friends that could reach out to each other for what was needed and then some.  Its reassuring to know that is all part of us now and gets passed on to future generations.  Thank you Carl and thank you Carol and family for sharing him with us.

I am very sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed Carl's company when I would see him at the various Doble conferences.  I learned a lot from Carl and enjoyed his stories. He was always ready and willing to help, answer a question or share a gumbo recipe! (Carol's Gumbo Ya-Ya!)
I feel truly blessed to have known H. Carl Manger.

Dear Cousins,
I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I often think about the times we went riding when you came down to visit us on the farm, and especially the time  that Cousin Carl drove his new Mustang down. Those were great times, and no one can take away the memories of laughter and friendship.

Carl was always one of my favorite people. His kindness, just as that of his lovely wife, Carol' s, always shone bright. I will carry memories of his beautiful deep bass tones supporting our church choir.

Carl was one of my first supervisors and mentors immediately out of college at BGE, back in the old Electric Test Department.  I always respected his dedication to his job and his continually trying to improve his and everyone else's technical knowledge. I reached out to him a few years ago when the BGE power plant fleet was disposing of their old PCB transformers.    My condolences to the entire Manger family.    Bert Kelly

Carl Manger was my friend & mentor.  We met at the Boston DOBLE Conference in 1975 & our friendship continued thru DOBLE for 30 years.  He encouraged me to join him as a member of ASTM.  
Carl's gift was to inspire & support others.  His knowledge & expertise helped formulate many regulations & standards of our industry.  Carl was a good engineer.  I shall miss my friend & mentor.

Carl found me buried in a coal pile (figuratively) at C. P. Crane generating station and saved me by bringing me into the Electric Test Department.  He imparted knowledge, understanding and experience that I probably never would have otherwise attained.  THANK YOU, Carl!

Carl introduced me to the idea of joining ASTM in 1989.  He was a very long time member of ASTM and was the chairman of committee D27 for several years.  He was a dedicated engineer for Baltimore Gas & Electric from which he retired.  He was well known and respected in the industry and had many accomplishments in his life.  He was a friend and a colleague and he will be missed.

I am proud to have worked for Carl Manger back when our group was called The Electric Test Department. I had the greatest respect for his knowledge and expertise as well as his respect for people. Rest In Peace Carl.

I consider myself very fortunate to have known Carl over the last 10 years through his expert consulting work.  Carl was such a sweet and gentle person.  He instantly brightened my day when he walked through the door. I will miss him greatly.
