I was very saddened to learn of Jim's passing. I hope that your family realizes the substantial work that Jim did at Hopkins, particularly in the early days of nuclear medicine; there were true pioneer days in the field and Jim was very instrumental in making new findings into clinically valuable studies that have benefited millions of patients world wide. I consider it a great previlage to be a co-editor with Jim on the textbooks with he and Don Bernier. Jim was extremely knowledgeable about how to present the material to educate new students into nuclear medicine. 
Jim was a friend to all and I greatly value his comaraderie. My thoughs and prayers are with you and your family.

Mary Jane--I just heard this evening of Jim's passing.  Doug and I have so many fond memories of Jim and our time in Nuclear Medicine so many years ago.  He was a smart man, but also always a funny guy with a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.  I remember you as a super-pleasant person who was a good match for Jim. Nancy and I are so sorry to hear about Jimmy's passing.  

In the 1950s, four of us (Jimmy, my brother John, Bill, and I) would get together and had some good times.  

I always think of Jimmy as the jovial guy with the Austin-Healy sports car and the Leica camera for photographing racing.  He also was an influence on me in buying good hi-fi equipment (as it was called then).

He's in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm going to finally forgive Jim for the most beastly hangover I ever experienced in my life when his son & my daughter got married and he extended the wedding reception to his and Mary Jane's home. Dear Mrs. Langan, 
I was sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I have many fond memories of Jim when he was the Chief Tech in NucMed and I was just starting out as lead tech on Blalock 3. His infectious good humor helped me through many a day!

Dear Langan Family.
Jim and I were students in the J.H.H. School of Radiologic Technology. Both of us were hired after graduating and worked in the Department(He in Nuclear Medicine and I in X-Ray) for a number of years. Those years are filled with many great memories of hard work but lots of fun. He was a person I could go to to celebrate victories or rant about adminstrative decisions .It was conforting to know someone who understood my victories or defeats.
