Kathleen was born January 19, 1926, in Banner Elk, North Carolina, to Leo and Flora Lowe. After marrying Harry Lee Proffitt, she relocated to Baltimore where she lived for more than 70 years raising her family. She was preceded in death by five siblings ; June Lowe Palanis, Fred Lowe, Leo Lowe Jr, Tom Lowe, and Jack Lowe and by her daughter Linda Gail Proffitt Hartman.
Her greatest joy were spending time with family, thrifting and weekends visits to McDonalds. She is survived by her son, Michael Lee Proffitt, her sister, Carol Lowe Timblin, and her two grandchildren, Michael E. Hartman and Mark P. Hartman.
The family extends special thanks to Golden Ring Independent Living for the memorable 100 th birthday celebration, to her nurse Tonya, and to the Autumn Lake Hospice staff for their compassionate care in her Final days.
A service to celebrate her life will be held in Banner Elk NC at a future date.
