Mary A. Pannill

On March 1, 2013, MARY ELIZABETH PANNILL (nee Arrington), 89, formerly of Catonsville, passed away at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster. Born April 19, 1923 in Sykesville, she was the beloved wife of the late William Clay Pannill for over 68 years; loving mother of Linda Susanne Pannill, William Stephen Pannill and wife Patricia, Philip David Pannill and wife Gail, and Judith Pannill Raiford and husband Steven; cherished grandmother of Rebecca Johnston, Michael, William J. and Kelly Pannill, and Abigail and William Raiford; devoted great grandmother of Ariana Grace Johnston; dear sister of Anne Kuhns and husband Charles P.; loving sister-in-law of Jean Arrington, Grace Chapman and Dorothy Lewis. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Austin Arrington, Jr., and parents William Austin and Grace Elizabeth Arrington. Mary was a member of Catonsville United Methodist Church since 1946, where she taught nursery Sunday School for many years and was president of the United Methodist Women as well as the Circle Leader. She also served as a trustee of the historic Wesley Chapel in Eldersburg. After living in Catonsville for 60 years, she and her husband relocated to Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster in 2007. A talented needlewoman, she made many beautiful quilts for family.

Family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 PM at STERLING-ASHTON-SCHWAB-WITZKE FUNERAL HOME OF CATONSVILLE, INC.; 1630 Edmondson Avenue; Catonsville, MD 21228; where a funeral service will be celebrated at 4 PM. Interment is private.
