On February 24, 2011, Dr. Richard Vernon Piel passed away. He is the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (nee Payant) and Margaret (nee Spicer); loving father of Charles and wife Debbie, David and wife Gloria, Richard Jr., James and wife Jo Ann; loving step-father of Thomas David, Mary Kathleen, Sheila Ann and Brian William; cherished grandfather of Hunter, Lauren, Stephanie, Justin, Scott, Rebecca and Jessica; devoted great grandfather of Natalie; dear half-brother of Kathleen Buttner.
Family will receive friends on Monday and Tuesday from 3-5 & 7-9PM at STERLING-ASHTON-SCHWAB-WITZKE FUNERAL HOME OF CATONSVILLE, INC.; 1630 Edmondson Avenue; Catonsville, MD 21228. A Funeral Service will be celebrated 10AM, Wednesday at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church; 905 Frederick Road; Catonsville, MD 21228. Interment Mt. Olive United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
