On July 6, 2024, Robert (Bob) William Moscati, Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep at Ridgeway Manor Nursing Home. He was the youngest of 6 children born to Catherine Moscati (nee D'Antoni) and Guiseppe (Joseph) Moscati, Sr., and was raised in Baltimore, Maryland where he later married and raised his own family. Bob loved his family above all and savored whatever journey he found himself on in his role as husband/father, grand-father, great-grandfather and beyond. He was an avid golfer and loved traveling/camping and sitting by the firepit with a cigar in hand having discussions about everything under the stars.
Bob served in the National Guard Reserves between 1957 and 1964 and was an active member of the 110th Artillery attached to the 29th Division. He retired from C&P (now Verizon) with over 40 years of service that included climbing poles, trouble shooting, answering service / repair calls and ultimately supervising others out in the field where he was happiest.
Bob's deep love for the Lord provided him with the grace to embrace his final journey with endless courage and the gift of a smile that he shared with everyone he encountered.
Bob was predeceased by his loving wife of 43 years, Mary Catherine Moscati (nee Thompson); his son, Eugene Moscati; his daughter, Angela Kelly; his great-grandson, Grey Moscati; and his parents and siblings: Irene Taylor, Eunice Henritz, Anthony Moscati, Joseph Moscati, Jr., and Camille Moscati.
He is survived by his sons: Robert Moscati, Jr. (Sue); Vincent Moscati (Gail); and daughter, Anita Daihl (Dwain); his grand-children: Christina Moscati, Scott Moscati (Ashley), Eugene Moscati, II; Stephanie Henry (Gary), AJ Daihl (Jessika Madjar), Julie Mendoza (Corey), Christopher Kelly (Kayla), Maria Kelly and Danielle Kelly (Steven Partlow); and his great grandchildren: Emma, Saniya, Aasha, Madi, Aria, Nora, Alice-Rose, Bryer, Wyatt, Emerson, and Saylor.
His family will receive family and friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, Inc., 1630 Edmondson Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 6950 Dogwood Road, Windsor Mill, MD 21244. Interment will follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675 or to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
