Thomas served in the Army Air Corps and then went to receive his master’s Degree from Western Maryland College. He was a teacher for Baltimore City Schools. He was involved in restoration work on the Steam Tug “Baltimore”, and later worked on the restoration of the World War Liberty Ship “John Brown”. He was an active member of a Masonic Lodge and a Shriner at the Boumi Temple. Other activities included volunteering with Meals on Wheels and the Ellicott City B&O Railroad Museum. He continued his volunteer activities at Charlestown Retirement Community.
Family will receive friends on Friday, August 12 from 2-4 & 6-8PM at STERLING-ASHTON-SCHWAB-WITZKE FUNERAL HOME OF CATONSVILLE, INC., 1630 Edmondson Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228. A Funeral Service will be celebrated 1PM, Saturday, August 13 at Our Lady of the Angels Chapel, 711 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD 21228. Interment in Loudon Park Cemetery.
