Barbara was born on September 11, 1926 in Ellis, Kansas to Jacob and Anna Pfannenstiel. After Barbara's mothers death in 1933 Barbara moved to Hays, Kansas where she was raised by her paternal granparents. Barbara attended Cosmetology College in Kansas City, MO and had her own shop The Cut and Curl in Hays, Kansas.
On Januray 11, 1949 Barbara was united in marriage to Markus Dinkel at St. Mary's church in Ellis, Kansas. They moved to Wichita, Kansas and then onto Westfield, Massachusetts in 1956 before moving to Littleton, Colorado in 1974.
She is preceded in death by her husband Markus, grandson Timothy Markos, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Survivors include her children Anna Horkun of Massachusetts, Mark Dinkel of Idaho, Mary Beth, Peggy, Carla and Carl (Cherie) Dinkel of Colorado, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren
