Catherine E. Hughes died July 9, 2010 after complications from surgery. She was a child of the Great Depression, a bride of World War II, and the mother of three "baby boomers". Cathy was born on January 9, 1929 in Detroit, MI to Isobel and Lance Anderson. It was there that she met and married her beloved husband of 58 years, Robert G. Hughes. Bob died in 2006 after many years battling Alzheimers with Cathy faithfully caring for him throughout the ordeal. Catherine was the quintessential matriarch: loving, serving and protecting her husband and sons and their families was always her top priority. She had been a resident of Littleton, CO since 1961 and, like her husband, loved her Colorado home. She is survived by sons Robert (Tracey) of Cambridge, MA; Rick (Trish) of Houston, TX and Randy (Deborah) of Denver, CO. Catherine was Grandma to Maggie, Sally, Brittany, Hannah and Harrison, who all loved her dearly. She was a loyal and generous wife, mother, grand- mother, aunt and friend who will live on in all our hearts.
Memorial Service will be held at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 So. Colordo Blvd. Littleton, CO 80121 on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 10:00 AM.
