

Cindy passed away on Saturday, Oct.29th, 2011. She lost her battle with Colon Cancer after a 2 year fight. You can find her story at ProveLoveHeals.com.
She is survived by her loving husband, and high school sweetheart Doug Barnes; her two children: Brittney O’Neill (Brady) and Tyler Barnes (Allie) both of Aurora, CO; her mother, Katherine Koenig of Aurora, CO; her siblings: Jake Koenig (Pam) of Aurora, CO, Karla Koenig-Campfield (Gary) of Wray, CO, and Jeff Koenig (Dana) of Ft. Collins, CO; and two grandsons: Brady Patrick O’Neill II and Jackson Douglas Daniel Barnes. She was preceded in death by her father David Koenig.
Cindy was a graduate of Hinkley High School in Aurora, and earned a Journalism Degree from the University of Northern Colorado. Cindy had worked as a Broker’s Assistant at several firms for the last 16 years.
Cindy was a warm and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was extremely active member of her church family at Gateway Christian Church in Aurora, CO. Even through her battle with cancer you could still find her helping at the church with whatever project needed her. She enjoyed sunshine, softball and the heating register. Her skills at first base will missed by both FNFOT and Broken, and her smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, November 3rd at 1:00pm

Following the service we will head to the Hampden Memorial Cemetery (8600 East Hampden Avenue). A reception will follow, back at the church. Flowers and cards may be sent to Gateway Christian Church.
