We all appreciated the guidance of Dan in the operation of Denver Christian Schools.  His service both on the DCS school board as well as many years of service on the DCS Foundation Board was critical to the success of both organizations.  Dan always seemed to know what was needed to improve the education program and more importantly, how to implement those changes.  We thank Dan and Grace for their friendship over the 45 years we have know them.  

Dan was a driving force in biology education!  Whatever he did with both students and teachers was designed to foster the love of biology in their lives.  He is a legend at Cherry Creek High School where he was Biology Department Chairman for many, many years. I became acquainted with Dan in the 1970's when I joined the Colorado Biology Teachers Association, one of the organizations with which he was associated.  Over time we worked together on numerous activities and enjoyed each others company.  I will miss Dan very much and send my prayers and well wishes to his wonderful wife, Grace.

Dan was a champion of biology education, working tirelessly to inspire countless students to careers in science, medicine, and education. He was a mentor to his colleagues and a stalwart support of the Colorado Biology Teachers Association. He will be missed and CBTA will endeavor to keep his memory and enthusiasm for biology education alive in our efforts.

Dan Van Gorp was an excellent teacher and supportive mentor.  I remember him at the front of the lab in his white lab coat, explaining components of the rigorous curriculum, as well as in the field on summer ecology trips.  The classes that I took with him and his support for my participation in an NSF program were key to my future studies and my career.

Dan was a member of Denver Metro Sci  Ed leaders that provided guidance to us novices back in the early 70s. Was always a personal joy to run into him in retirement and still hear the passion in his voice for educating kids.  Never lost that desire to better others. My condolences to the family 

Dan was a wonderful science teacher at Cherry Creek High School, as well as a mentor and friend to many faculty members. He left a strong legacy in the Science department and will be missed by many of his colleagues.  My condolences to his family.
