Dolores (Lulu) Octaviana Higdon, joined her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 30th, 2025. She is survived by her loving husband Ray Higdon, her son Leonard, and daughter in law Leticia, and grandchildren Malia Shaw (Caleb) and Emalani Higdon Pablo (Brayan); her sons by marriage, Gerald, and grandchildren Alanna and Bettina, Bryan, and granddaughter Bryanna, Ricky, and grandchildren Tatum, Cory, Josh and Amanda, Sean (Debbie), and grandchildren Lindsey and Cassandra.
Dolores was surrounded in love and prayer by her family as she ascended to her Lord.
Dolores was born and raised in San Diego, California, to Amelia Machado and Antonio Perez. She was one of seven siblings, and is the final sibling to meet the Lord. She often served her family at their beloved restaurant, Casa Machado, making tortillas, preparing delicious meals and cultivating memories for years to come. Dolores was a dental hygienist, and she and her husband Ray operated a successful construction business in Hawaii for many years.
Dolores, also lovingly known as, Grandma Maegae, loved her home in Hawaii, spending time on white, sandy beaches, celebrating life with friends and family, and taking in all of the beauty that surrounded her. When she later moved to the mountains of Colorado, she enjoyed gardening, four-wheeling, hunting, raising bison, goats, geese, and other animals.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, leading beautiful Nativity productions each year, and greatly enjoyed ballet and art. Dolores lived as a faithful Christian woman, in genuine pursuit of her Lord Jesus. She had complete faith in God, which gave her tremendous peace. Dolores will leave behind a legacy of love and a passion for the beauty of Jesus and the life He gives us, and will be greatly missed by those closest to her.
