On Friday, June 8, 2012 Doris Kelly entered into eternal rest. She is survived by her four sons Dan, Jeff, Bill (Jody), Steve (Nancy) and six grandchildren: Nicole, Caitlyn, Elizabeth, Shayla, Jacob, and Grace. Doris entered this world on June 19, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of a Pearl Harbor survivor, Sam Houston Crye. Having lost her mother at a young age and her father being a Navy man she was raised by her loving Irish aunts Nellie, Madge, Laura and Gerty. In 1951 Doris married her high school sweetheart Robert Kelly and shortly thereafter started a family. Four boys and twenty three years later Doris and Bob’s dream to get out of the Big City came true. In 1974 mother, father and the two youngest sons moved to Littleton, Colorado. Here Doris spent the rest of her life on earth. She was a loving wife and mother, and took pleasure helping to raise her six grandchildren. Doris always had a deep faith in the Lord and was confident in Jesus’ promise of eternal life with the Father She was one of the most compassionate and loving women on this earth. She harbored no ill will, and obeyed the Golden Rule all the days of her life. Doris will be sorely missed by family and friends, but we are confident that she is at peace in the presence of the Lord.
