Floyd was born on December 11, 1923 on the family farm near Pratt, Kansas to his parents Ray and Vera Rolf. Floyd had an older brother Warren, and a younger sister Ravera. Floyd married Peggy Abrams on October 21st, 1945, and they recently celebrated their 78th wedding anniversary. Floyd was a pilot with the Army Air Corp in World War II, spending most of his time in Italy. Floyd graduated with his Masters degree from Kansas State College and began his 30+ year career with the United States Department of Agriculture, where he retired as Chief of the Crops Branch of the Statistical Reporting Service for the USDA in Washington DC. The job brought moves to several states with favorites of Colorado and Arizona. Floyd and Peggy retired in Colorado where their 3 daughters live. Floyd and family always found a good church wherever they lived and were active members. He lived to serve and trust his Lord and Savior in all that he did.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife Peggy, daughters Linda Rolf, Janice (Daniel) Vance, Barbara (David) Johnson, grandson Bradley Johnson, and great grandsons Carter, Blake and Avery Johnson.
After retirement Floyd and Peggy enjoyed golf, travel, and volunteering for various organizations, including Meals On Wheels and Christian World Outreach.
A memorial service for Floyd will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11:00 am, followed by a reception. The service and reception will be held at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 6601 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121. A private committal service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on April 10th.
