Geraldine Olson

Geraldine Graves Olson passed from this life to Eternal Life with her Lord on Friday, March 11, 2022. She was born on February 13, 1926, at her Beloved Grandmothers home in Glenwood, Missouri to Gerald Grant and Ivalee Florence Graves (Lucas).

She married Ernest Edward Olson on July 7, 1948, and they had 4 children Robert (Janice) of Montrose, CO; Gary (Jill) of Aurora, CO; Vernon of Loveland, CO; and LuAnn Pyatt (Kent) of Bennett, CO. She had 9 Grandchildren, 3 step Grandchildren, 11 Greatgrandchildren, and 8 step Greatgrandchildren she is survived by all except her husband. She’s also survived by her sister Besse Joan “Jody” Scholfield of Greeley, CO.; she’s also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who loved her very much.

She was preceded in Death by her Husband of 50 years Ernest Edward Olson, and by her father Gerald, mother Ivalee (Lucas) Graves, and stepmother Eileen Graves (Eason) also, by her sisters Mary Ilene Lunceford, Martha Tallman, Sara Aeschliman, and Naomi Darnielle.

After graduating from High School, she taught school for one year, then she joined the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps and moved to Denver, CO to attend Nurses Training at Mercy Hospital. She became a Licensed RN, but after her marriage she became a full-time homemaker to raise their children. After her youngest child entered high school, she returned to being an RN working in several Nursing Homes in Denver and Greeley.

She was an avid quilter, seamstress, and the last few years of her life became an artist painting several pictures, while amazing her children of her newfound talent.

Services will be at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary and Cemetery 6601 S. Colorado Blvd on March 21, 2022 at 2:00 PM. A viewing will be held at 1:00 PM prior to the service.
