Harry C. Sykes

Harry was born in Los Angeles, California on June 8, 1939 to loving parents Kay and Wesley Sykes. Upon graduating from high school, Harry joined the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country while stationed at Camp Pendleton. He graduated from Arizona State University with his BS in Business, then received his MBA from Northwestern University. Harry began his career with Merrill Lynch in Los Angeles, then went on to have a long career in mortgage banking, retiring from Suntrust Mortgage in 2009. Harry was honored to be named to Presidents Club most years of his 14-year career with Suntrust – a designation given only to the top Account Executives. Harry was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hiking 14ers, and hunting with friends – often with a devoted Golden Retriever by his side. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Deb and was always up for an adventure! Harry is survived by his wife, Deb Kilgore, sons Chris and Greg Sykes, daughters-in-law Tina Sykes and Lynette Sykes, step-children Mark Johnson and Krista Weister, and four loving grandchildren.
