Ilene was born in St Charles, Missouri to Robert and Verna Ehlmann. She was the oldest of four. After graduating from Concordia Teacher’s College, she had her first teaching job in Grand Rapids, MI. Then she moved to Denver to teach at St Johns Lutheran. Later, she was the daycare supervisor at Hope Lutheran and then Christ Lutheran.
She married David Manske and they had 2 sons, Jonathan and Mark. David passed away in 1987. Later she married Ted Powell.
Ilene was preceded in death by Wayne Ehlmann (brother), Ethel Henderson (sister), David Manske (husband), Mark Manske (son), and Ted Powell (husband).
Ilene is survived by Jonathan and Anne Manske (son and daughter-in-law), Sierra Manske (granddaughter), Sabine Manske (granddaughter), Larry Ehlmann (brother), and many dear friends and relatives.

A memorial service for Ilene will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Christ Lutheran Church, 2695 S Franklin St., Denver, CO 80210.
