Life and Legacy
Born on May 2, 1999, Isaac’s life was marked by faith, kindness, love, and care for everyone who knew him. He never passed up the opportunity to reach out to anyone in need.
Isaac was lovingly raised by his parents, Steve and Leslie Layman, in Littleton, Colorado with his brothers Aaron and Zachary. Isaac shared an unbreakable bond with his brothers—he was not only their sibling, but their steadfast protector and lifelong friend. Isaac loved snowboarding in the Colorado mountains with his dad and brothers. He showed discipline and determination through ten years of karate, earning his 2nd degree black belt, and developed a love for music during eight years of playing the viola. Isaac was also active in his faith at St. Frances Cabrini, participating in religious education, altar serving, youth retreats and as a youth leader in high school.
He quickly discovered that working with his hands on anything mechanical was where his passion truly thrived. This would later influence his career in trucking, which he took great pride in. He earned multiple endorsements including hazmat, tanker, and double/triple trailers. Most recently, he worked as a wrecker/tow truck driver, where he often was a first responder, showing up to help people in difficult situations before police arrived.
In 2023, he traveled to Missouri and later settled in Medford, Oregon building a relationship with his birth parents and extended siblings. He enjoyed visiting family on weekends and going to church with them. He loved rebuilding his truck motor and riding his motorcycle in his free time, finding peace and freedom on the road.
Isaac was a man of deep faith who placed Jesus at the center of his life. His beliefs guided him, strengthened him, and were a source of comfort and hope to those who knew him.
He was a gentle soul when guiding those younger and older-with his quick wit and humor, he was able to bring light into their hearts. Always thinking of others, he was loyal to a fault, often placing others’ needs before his own.
Isaac will be remembered for his strong work ethic, independent spirit, humor, kind smile, generous nature, and the passion he brought to everything he did. Those who knew him best could see the fire in him and his determination to spread love to those in need. He passed too soon and will forever live in our hearts.
