James Francis Morgan was born in Casper, Wyoming on July 18, 1938 to James “Jum” and Mable Morgan. He was the oldest of three children, with sisters, Judy and Jeri. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara and four children, Shelley, Matt, Missy, and Mike. He also was blessed with 8 grandchildren, Ben and Paul Miller, Morgan and Bryson Thomson, Jack and Grace Morgan, and Carter and Brady Morgan.
Jim moved to Denver in the early 50s and attended high school at South High where he excelled as Senior Class President and was a standout baseball player. He continued at Colorado State University and developed lifelong friends as a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.
He entered a career in the pharmaceutical industry soon after graduating college and dedicated himself to this field for the next 40 years of his life.
Jim met Barbara Brown while attending CSU and the November following his graduation in 1961 they were married.
For the next 54 years, Jim’s life was centered around his four children and grandchildren. His love for his family is his true life’s legacy as he cherished the times spent with them up to his final days.
His passions in life outside of family were a love of the outdoors, camping, fishing, sporting activities, gardening and of course his undying love and support for the Denver Broncos, a team he faithfully cheered for as a season ticket holder for over 50 years!
The “Captain” as he was fondly referred to, will be greatly missed by those who knew him and loved him.
Memorial service will be held 3:30pm Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Most Precious Blood, 2250 S. Harrison St, Denver, CO 80210. Reception to follow service.
