James Porter

Jim was born August 12, 1957 to Dr. John Porter and Doris (Westfall) Porter. He grew up in Beatrice, Nebraska and graduated from Beatrice High School. He attended Nebraska Wesleyan University, University of Nebraska at Lincoln, and Creighton Dental School. Jim was a dentist in Littleton, and was repeatedly selected as one of the Top Dentists in Colorado. Jim was an accomplished photographer and loved travel and adventure.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Highlands Ranch. A reception will follow the service. A guest book will be available at the memorial. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jim's name to International Medical Relief, an organization Jim proudly served on mission trips abroad. Jim is survived by his wife of 24 years, Leslie; sons Michael James and Matthew John; stepchildren, Becky (Todd) Cruise and grandchildren Jackson, Kate, and Charlotte; David (Jody) Hyde and grandchildren Graham and Brady; mother, Doris Porter; and sister Carol (Dan) Klaus. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. John W. Porter and a brother, John Radford Porter.
