The family moved to the Bronx, NY when John was 2 years of age.
On January 23, 1954 John married his loving wife Mary Louise Smith in Buffalo, NY. To this union one son Bruce Edwin Chapman was born.
John enjoyed traveling with his wife Mary to many places around the world. He also enjoyed listening to jazz music and playing his organ. He often returned to the Bronx to visit with his family.
John was a member of Scott United Methodist Church for more than 55 years. He was a member of the adult Sunday school class and oh how he loved a good discussion! John held many leadership roles in the church until his health began to fail. John loved people and would greet you with a big smile.
John leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife Mary of Denver, CO, his loving son Bruce (Susanne) Chapman of Kernersville, NC, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives, and many friends.
John will be truly missed by all who knew him.
