

Joseph Frank Gavlick Jr., 86, of Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025. Born on November 19, 1939, in Pennsylvania, Joe was the cherished son of Anna and Joseph Gavlick Sr. He lived a life defined by dedication, integrity, and an unwavering love for family, faith, and adventure.
Joe earned a master’s degree, laying the foundation for a distinguished career in the oil industry. Through hard work and perseverance, he rose to become Vice President of Land and Acquisitions. His expertise and leadership earned him widespread respect and the prestigious Landman of the Year award. Joe’s professional legacy is one of excellence, commitment, and honor.
He married the love of his life, Patricia, and together they shared more than 40 wonderful years before her passing. Joe was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his son Douglas and daughter-in-law Jayne, and was blessed with two grandchildren, Shawn and Megan, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Family was always at the heart of Joe’s world, and he treasured every moment spent together.
Outside of work, Joe embraced life with passion. An avid golfer, he was a proud member of Valley Country Club, where he enjoyed countless rounds and lasting friendships. He was also active in the Denver Petroleum Club, reflecting his deep ties to the industry and community.
Joe’s adventurous spirit took him across the globe, with travels to Africa, Germany, Italy, and beyond. A devout Episcopalian, he was an active member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, where his faith served as a guiding light throughout his life.
Joe’s life was a testament to hard work, love, and faith. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on January 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Centennial, Colorado. All who knew and loved Joe are welcome to attend and celebrate his remarkable life.
