KENNETH GEORGE SEWING passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2013. He will be remembered by his kind and gentle nature, his great faith in the Lord, pride in his country, and his unending love for his family and friends. Ken leaves behind a large blended family to include his daughters and their husbands, Sallye & Jerome Key, Martha Jo & Russell Johnson and Angela & Gary Myer; and his son and daughter-in-law, Kirk & Debbie Sewing. Additionally, he leaves behind his step-sons and their wives, Kevin & Kimi Kuehnert, Keith & Tammy Kuehnert, Kendall & Jennifer Kuehnert and Kish & Janet Kuehnert; and his step-daughter and her husband, Kiki & Steffen Bandilla. Ken was extraordinarily proud to be a grandfather and great-grandfather to over 30 beautiful grand-children and great-grandchildren. He was also a brother so full of admiration for his two sisters, Ruth Ann Frericks and Jane Bachstein and their respective families. Most importantly though, he leaves behind his wife of almost 30 years, Betty Nell, who he loved with incredible passion and purity. Ken was preceded in death by his mother, Luella Buske-Sewing and his father, Walter George Sewing, of Litchfield, IL, in addition to beloved aunts and uncles. Ken enjoyed an exciting and successful career highlighted by his tenure with RCA and his work in the Pentagon. He was especially proud of his 10 year service to his country with the US Air Force, for which he will receive his Military Honors on Tuesday, May 7th, @ 11 a.m. at Ft Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO, where he resided in the final months of his life.
Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life, in Henderson, NV, where Ken resided for the past 20 years, on Saturday, July 27, @ 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Ken's honor to Woodridge Terrace Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 5230 E 66th Way, Commerce City, CO 80022 for the Sterling Remodel Project and in honor of Kenneth Sewing.
