Born February 6, 2008, in Denver, Colorado, Leyah Rose Dowling was the daughter of Cassandra Harvey and Jacob Dowling. Leyah had a "spark of curiosity" and was intrigued by life and all of its wonders from the moment of her birth.
Everything she did seemed to come naturally to her. Whether it was walking, talking, reading, or writing, things came to her with ease. She was naturally good at a variety of activities, including playing volleyball, dancing, playing the violin, and skateboarding. Her intelligence came easily to her, and she excelled at schoolwork. She was known for taking pride in being the best.
Leyah lost her birth mother when she was four months old, a sadness that always stayed with her. Her father, Jacob, continued to raise her with her step mother Dayna. Leyah loved spending time with all of her family and friends.
She often chose to spend time with her siblings-her twin sisters Nevaeh and Kaylee, and her brothers Jacob Jr. and Stephen. She would stay up late each weekend with her siblings watching horror movies. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandparents, Thomas and Caroline Dowling, Sandi Harvey and Edward Raymond.
Leyah was the homecoming queen in her first year of junior high school. She excelled in playing the violin. She was an exceptional employee at her job in the food industry. She loved attending local rock concerts and punk shows. She had just received her high school diploma and was looking forward to being a counselor for troubled youth in the future.
She sadly passed on September 20th,2025 leaving a sadness in the ones who loved her that will never disappear.
Leyah will be forever missed and forever young.
A memorial service for Leyah will be held Friday, October 3, 2025 at 2:00 PM followed by a committal service at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
