Lilia Mejia Ruybal, born on March 28, 1935, in the Philippines, passed away on December 22, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of Gaudencio Mejia and Anastacia Mejia, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and matriarch whose love and strength shaped generations.
Lilia met the love of her life, Ubaldo “Rudy” Ruybal, while he was stationed in the Philippines. They were married on August 20, 1966, and shared 59 years of marriage until Rudy’s passing on December 5, 2025. Their bond was one of deep devotion, partnership, and family-centered love.
Together, Lilia and Rudy raised two daughters, Rowena and Rose, who were the pride and joy of her life. Lilia was a fiercely loving mother and an especially devoted grandmother who cherished her five grandchildren: Nicole, Randee, Alexis, Jenasea, and Ryan. Her family always came first, and her care extended not only to those close by, but also to loved ones in the Philippines, whom she supported and cared for with unwavering dedication.

She took great pride in her appearance, always making sure she looked her best. Feisty, strong-willed, and unforgettable, Lilia was truly a force to be reckoned with—someone whose presence filled a room and whose opinions were always known.
She is survived by her daughters Rowena (Jaime) and Rose (Jeremy), and her five cherished grandchildren. Lilia leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, resilience, and family devotion that will continue to live on in all who knew her.
