Linda Ballas is a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend to many. She was the first child to Fay and Alta. She is the older sister to Dianna and Gary. Mother to Bill and Grandmother to Sam, Dan and Abby.
As an “Air Force Brat” she had the opportunity to live in several bases here in the States and abroad. This is likely where she developed a love for the ocean. She enjoyed the sound of the ocean, the feel of the sand between her toes and a cool breeze in her face. She spent most of her adult life here in Denver Colorado and enjoyed the mountains and fall colors. However, she surrounded herself with several fans (for the cool breeze) and pictures of the ocean or lighthouses. She did have several years where she lived and worked either in the St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. or on Catalina Island of the coast of Southern California.
She was employed in various occupations centered around secretarial work or accounting. Her true gift was crafting and working with silk flowers. She enjoyed making various decorative wreaths, flower arrangements, sprays, visors, hats and many other things. If you have never seen one of her arrangements, you are missing out. She was good at both of those, but being a grandma was her true calling. She was a true blessing to her grandkids. She was patient, compassionate, concerned and probably the loudest Grandma at their sporting events. She took time to get to know people she met and would do what she could to help those she knew.
She was a beautiful and intelligent woman, often putting others needs ahead of her own. We will all miss her very much, but we also thank GOD above that she is now with HIM in heaven and no longer suffering with any earthy ailments.
