Louis was a devoted family man, finding immense joy in the company of his loved ones. He cherished every moment spent with his family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. His passion for baking was renowned, and he delighted in preparing delicious treats such as cookies and cinnamon rolls for his family to enjoy.
Louis dedicated 36 years of his life to American Airlines, serving as an operations crew chief with dedication and passion. His commitment to his work was matched only by his warmth and generosity towards his coworkers. Louis was beloved by all who had the pleasure of working alongside him, not only for his professionalism but also for his kindness. He had a knack for lifting spirits with his delicious treats, always ensuring that his colleagues were well-fed and cared for. His legacy at American Airlines extends far beyond his role as an operations crew chief; he leaves behind a legacy of camaraderie, goodwill, and culinary delights that will be fondly remembered by all.
An epicurean at heart, Louis had a discerning palate and appreciated the finer things in life. He savored good coffee, fine wine, whiskey, and Brandy, finding pleasure in the simple indulgences that life had to offer. His culinary talents extended beyond baking, as he was known for his mouthwatering coconut shrimp and other delectable dishes. His family will always remember the time he almost burned down the deck cooking brisket.
Louis was an early adopter of technology, always eager to explore new innovations. He was the proud owner of one of the first computers when they came out, showcasing his curiosity and forward-thinking nature. His love for new gadgets and advancements in technology was matched only by his enthusiasm for watching "Family Feud" and staying up-to-date with the latest trends.
A regular at Costco and Sam's Club, Louis enjoyed the thrill of a good bargain and took pleasure in stocking up on essentials for his family. He had a penchant for funny t-shirts and delighted in spreading holiday cheer by gifting personalized and humorous Christmas cards to his loved ones.
One of Louis's greatest passions was traveling, particularly cruising in the Caribbean. He found solace and tranquility amidst the azure waters and sandy beaches, creating cherished memories with his family on countless voyages. He also enjoyed going on mission trips with Airline Ambassadors. He helped bring labor, doctors and supplies to those in need.
Louis Mares Jr. will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kindness, humor, and unwavering faith will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years; Sheila Mares, his sister; Victoria Mares Hershey, four children; Tonisha Seader (James Seader), Devin Mares, Ramee Kelly (Travis Kelly), and Ali Fennig, four grandchildren; Preston Seader (Alexis Seader), Annabelle Mares, Gabe Chambers, and Eli Kelly, and extended family members and friends.
He is preceded in passing by his mother; Katie Mares and his father; James Moore.
