Bright, lively, fun-loving and social, Vickie was the center of activity in every gathering of family or friends.
Vickie was born in Urich, Missouri, a small town of 2000 people, to a family of farmers. After losing one farm to drought and another to flood, her family migrated to Loveland, Colorado in 1935.
A hard worker all her life, and insatiably adventurous, she held a range of jobs that spanned from candy factory worker, dry cleaner, and telephone operator to lion-tamer’s assistant. She found her professional calling as a beautician and hair dresser and went on to become a member of the Littleton business community as the owner of the Petite Beauty Bar for many years.
Vickie and her husband, Dean, were very active members of the Englewood Elks Lodge 2122 for decades. As her husband advanced through the chairs of office at the lodge to Exalted Ruler, she was equally active in the Elks Ladies and was President of the Englewood Elks’ Ladies Auxiliary from 1987-88.
Vickie and Dean enjoyed traveling the world with the cherished group of friends they found at the Englewood Elks.
They were active and involved parents and grandparents with their extended family in the Littleton area as well as Steve’s family as they moved around the country during his 30-year Marine Corps career.
Vickie is predeceased by her parents, Henry and Lenora Richter, her brothers Willis and William, her sister LaVerne, her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Dean, and her sons Michael and Daniel.
Vickie is survived by her brother Dale (wife, Judy) and her son Steve (wife, Lorraine), daughters-in-law Kathie Summers and Sharon Cade, six grandchildren (Michael Jr, Kristin, Nathan, Adam, Carson and Dorie) and five great-grandchildren (Nicholas, Mike, Yvonne, Mason and Emmett) and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
