Michael was our neighbor in Florham Park for eight years.  Some of my favorite memories of childhood include playing kick ball on Myrtle Ave and sledding down Jannicelli's Hill.  

I remember being so bummed when the Jannicelli's went to the Shore every summer.  It just wasn't the same.  

My mother, Mae Desmond loved the name Michael Joseph and said so often.  I have to  say that when my son was born I thought of this....his name is Michael.  

My sincere condolences to Michael's family, I know his memory is a blessing.    Rest in peace my friend.

I spent nearly half of my entire adolescence, from early grade school all the way into high school, at Big Michael’s house in The Pinery. I first met his son Michael when we had swimming lessons together in first grade and we both took a lot of pride in our Italian heritage. Big Michael always felt like another dad to me, and he treated and protected all of his children’s friends like they were his own. He always used to have a bag or two of Chips Ahoy in the pantry, and whenever Michael and I would have a sleepover at their house, we would each pour ourselves a glass of milk and basically eat the entire bag of cookies at the kitchen table while Big Michael would tell us stories about his life when he was a kid. Big Michael never ran out of hilarious stories to tell us, and sometimes he would go out of his way to stay up late with us and keep telling us all of his stories. The milk and cookie storytelling at his house almost became a kind of sleepover tradition, and Mike and I would check to see if there were any Chips Ahoy, even if we didn’t even want any cookies, but just because we wanted Big Michael to tell us another story about the times when he was our age, and getting into as much trouble and mischief as we were. I’m crushed to hear of his passing, and I wish the Jannicelli family solace and comfort in this sorrowful time. Rest in power, Big Michael. You were and still are the very definition of what any father should aspire to be.

For about 5 years John and Jennell (Bruno) and Michael and Gail spent a lot of time at each others homes. I always enjoyed talking with Michael at pick up and drop off times. He made me smile as he is the only person ever to  shorten my name to Kar instead of Karen. I loved it then and I love the memory now.  He will be missed. 

My deepest condolences to the Janicelli family. Michael was one of the nicest "boys" that a young girl could have as a neighbor.  He was always very polite and in general - just a good kid. I remember Michael playing basketball with Alex and Jimmy in their driveway, while the likes of many a Sullivan girls and I looked on, as young girls would.  All the Janicelli's were very nice and in general great neighbors.

What beautiful pictures of Michael and his family.  I love you Jannicellis (and Scottis and Mauriellos).  We all grew up together.  May Michael Rest In Peace but I hope he never forgets  his past and how many people have loved him throughout his life on earth.

Mike was a wonderful man and great father.  He loved his kids with all of his heart, and will be missed by many.  Deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

Michael Jannicelli is and always has been one of the kindest people I have ever known.
He was my first true love and together we made the most amazing and finest daughter Angelia Jannicelli.  
Little did we know she would become the strongest most caring and vital person in his care during his illness.  
I loved you then and I love you now Michael.  May you find peace and comfort in the arms of Jesus. 
Your passing was so unbelievably tragic and unfair from my perspective, and only God knows why you were called home so young, but go now with God and be blessed,  for your love and kindness here on earth deserves only the best and greatest love.

Uncle Michael was an amazing soul! Always happy to see me and always comforting and always had the best advice! Blessed to have him as my Uncle!
