Miyoko Aoyagi was born on October 26, 1917 in Sacramento, California. She was the youngest child and only daughter of the Hamatake family with four older brothers. She married Harry Aoyagi on January 25, 1942 in Sacramento and resided in Dixon, California. During WWII, they were relocated to Turlock Assembly Center and Gila, Arizona Camp 2 (Rivers). They eventually settled in Denver, Colorado where they raised their three children.
Harry passed away in 1983. Miyoko later lived with her daughter, Lianne, in Colorado Springs. She is survived by her children -Janice, Gordon and Lianne; 2 grandchildren – Garrett and Ellyn; and 3 great grandchildren.
