MUALEOA FASAVALU TUALA FALETOI FALEATUA
Surrounded by loving family and friends, Mualeoa Faleatua passed away peacefully at 76 years young on April 19, 2025 while living in Aurora, Colorado. She now joins her parents, Felu and Tutumanu, her grandmother Ilove'a, her brothers Masima and Manuele, as well as her beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins in their eternal home.
On January 19, 1949 in Samoa, Mualeoa Faleatua was given life as the eldest of 13 siblings. In 1969, she married Pepe Faleatua at St. Francis in American Samoa. Mualeoa was known by many names; Mua to family, Renee to coworkers, and Mom to all who held her close.
Throughout her life journeys, Mualeoa has affected countless hearts with her compassion, wisdom, and humor. She carried the titles of a friend, auntie, and grandma with dignity, leaving an impression of herself through her leadership skills and mentorship capabilities making her main title to all as “mom”. Always being a natural leader, Mualeoa embodied strength and grace while taking on all challenges, displaying her commitment to leave a footprint legacy as a sister, devoted wife, and loving mother to Ropina, Patricia, and Sesilia. She was a proud grandmother to Tricia, Jasmine, and Jonathan along with being a great-grandmother to Leinani, Ayden, and Alivia.
During her time in Colorado, Mualeoa worked at Walmart for over 20 years and became a true cheerleader for the company with her ambition and devotion to making everyone look like the Walmart smiley face logo. If something wasn’t made or bought from Walmart, she would often say, “It’s not good!” Her loyalty, pride, and humor left a lasting impression on everyone she worked with and cared for.
We were taught that God has a plan for each of us and knew us even before we were born. He ordained our lives with purpose, and true to his word, she became everything her birthdate scripture described her to be.
Proverbs 31:19 reads:
“She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.”
A verse that pictures an industrious and virtuous woman, capturing Mom’s life in simple words as she lived up to this verse and much more through her embodied strength, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Mom, we have been blessed and remain strong because of your love, your strength, your compassion, and your sacrifice. I wish I could turn back time just to spend more moments with you. E le galo oe.
Thank you for everything. We miss you dearly, but your legacy will live forever in our hearts.
Manuia lau malaga.
