

Nolan was born on January 22, 1951 to Dana Davis & Elgene Davis Roper in Denver Colorado. After Nolan graduated from Alameda High School in 1969, he went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Metropolitan State College. After college, Nolan proudly served as a weather specialist in the United States Air Force from 1974-1978. He later continued his education earning a degree in Surveying & Mapping from the Denver Institute of Technology. He lived and worked as a private contractor in Kwajalein for several years, before returning to Denver where he had a long and successful career as a surveyor. He enjoyed tracking weather and reporting his data to the National Weather Service.
After retirement, Nolan spent his time enjoying his many hobbies including hiking, photography, off-roading, metal detecting, and being a devoted fan to all of the Denver sports teams. He took great pride in tending to his yard and growing delicious blackberries which were shared with family and friends. He was a devoted and loving son, caring for his mother through her long life.
Nolan was preceded in death by his father Dana Davis, mother Elgene Roper, step-father Donald Roper and step-sister Bonnie Kim. Nolan is survived by his step-sister Susan Arndt and nieces, Wendy Smith, Laurie Newton, and Kelly Sorensen.
Services will be held at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S. Colorado Boulevard, Centennial, CO 80121, on February 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Following the service there will be a Military Honors service at Ft. Logan Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave. Denver, CO, 80236
