Patricia Bingham Greenman (b. April 29, 1928) passed away on February 3, 2025. Pat was born in Buffalo, New York, the second daughter of Alfred and Olive Bingham. Her father died of pneumonia when she was four years old, and her mother from cancer when she was 21. At age 14, Pat had met a nice young boy at the church youth group named Phil Greenman. They were engaged at age 18 and eventually married in August 1949, just after she had graduated from Buffalo State Teacher’s College with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. She won a student teaching prize and worked as an elementary school teacher while Phil attended medical school in Philadelphia. In 1953, they returned to Buffalo where her husband was in private practice as an osteopathic physician. Their son John was born in 1954 and Jeffrey came along in 1959. Phil and Pat moved to central Michigan in 1972 when he joined the faculty at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he worked until his retirement in 1998. This affiliation allowed Pat and Phil to show generous hospitality to many interesting guests as well as enjoy opportunities to travel the world. She was also active throughout her life in a number of professional guilds and with her church. They retired very happily in Tucson, Arizona, where they were original members of the Villa Hermosa senior living community. They enjoyed the desert sunshine and hosted a steady stream of family members and visitors. Phil died in 2013. Pat proved to be a resilient widow, living an active life as she joined the Morningstar family just after it opened.
Pat is survived by John and his wife Laura, who live in Centennial, as well as Jeffrey and his wife Janet, who live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. She took great delight in her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
